Artistic wine is an expression of man’s harmony with nature. The winegrower’s art begins by finding a great site, then balanacing the vine, the winemaking to the fruit and ultimately the wine to the table; all for the purpose of enhancing a great meal.

The 2018 growing season was a winemaker’s dream - cool weather patterns followed much needed rain, but plenty of sunshine allowed the fruit to ripen beautifully. 2018 Continuum expresses purity and precision, with high tone aromatics of red and blue fruit, deep plum and rose oil. This vintage shows an approachable nerve of the land in the refined mineral quality and earthy, savory profile. A shimmering, silky and harmoniously integrated wine with densely packed fine grain tannins.

Novicium, Latin for young, new or fresh wine, is the second wine from our estate, a younger sibling to Continuum. While all of our vines are raised and vinified with the aspiration of becoming Continuum, the newer vines have the breeding though not yet the substance. That comes with time. 100% estate grown, Novicium is comprised primarily of the fruit from our youthful vines.

The 2018 Novicium blend consists of:

  • 90% Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 7% Petit Verdot
  • 3% Cabernet Franc

We look upon Novicium as our proud noble baby - the ‘noviciate’ of our Sage Mountain Vineyard. Though more firmly structured than its recent predecessors, this vintage is still true to Novicium’s essence with an approachable, youthful energy.
